TCAE&B: Maritime Silk Road (Zoom Lecture)

The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum is partnering with the SDSU Chinese Cultural Center to produce this monthly Zoom lecture series.

Our very own Dr. Li-Rong Lilly Cheng will speak in May 2024, considering the history of Ming Dynasty Admiral Zheng He 鄭和船隊下西洋, who traveled seven times from China all the way to Africa.  His huge fleets were loaded with silk, porcelain, tea, lacquer, and other treasures.  He served as an ambassador of goodwill.  This maritime silk road 海上絲綢之路 created the early Chinese diaspora.
