3rd Saturday Lecture: Oh, Those Glazes! - Qing Dynasty Ceramics
Virtual Meeting URL: https://sdsu.zoom.us/j/94538630661
Just when people think Chinese porcelain had reached its plateau in beauty during the Ming Dynasty, think again. In the Qing Dynasty, the vogue for porcelain in Europe would reach its height during the first half of the 18th century. This presentation will show the gorgeous colors such as café au lait, pale yellow, dead-leaf brown, brilliant turquoise, leaf green, apple green, cucumber green, purple or eggplant, etc. There were over 40 descriptions of colors in the porcelain during the Qing Dynasty.
