Description
The San Diego Chinese Historical Society and Museum will inaugurate its book discussion series with a conversation around Dr. Russell Low's Three Coins: a Young Girl's Story of Kidnappings, Slavery, and Romance in 19th Century America.
For this first edition, we will be joined by the author, Russell Low, who will present on the process of researching and creating the narrative of Three Coins, drawing from his family history.
The SDCHM Book Club discussion series brings the community together around a common read that considers different aspects of the Chinese and Chinese American experience. Meetings are convened on the 2nd Thursday of the month. In 2021, we will come together in January, May, and in September to hold conversations on each of the books to be considered in the 2021 cycle.
