Ongoing Closure

09/02/2020

Statement from Our Director

We regret that the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum will be closed through the end of the year due to the pandemic and the burglaries at the museum.

We have had one attempted break-in and two actual burglaries with police investigations on-going. The burglar was armed and our Museum is a crime scene. On the advice of the police, we are taking time to reinforce our security system before we reopen.

During the museum shutdown, we will continue our virtual lectures/discussions on most Saturdays at 9:00am PDT. They have been very successful in the past weeks. We will try to add more virtual events, like Museum tours or exhibitions in order to continue sharing our collection with you while the doors remain closed.

Please check your email from the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum or the Events or Calendar pages at our website http://sdchm.org for the schedules.  To join any live virtual events, just click on the link in the Event summary or description, or the email invitation.  Registering for live events in advance at the Event webpage helps us stay in touch.

You can also visit and subscribe to the Museum’s YouTube channel SDCHM New Channel to see online and previous live talks that you may have missed.

We hope to see you in person when these issues are resolved.
